5 Questions with Samantha Zabel...

1. When did you first become a fan of State Champs?  

    I first became a fan in 2015!

    2. How has State Champs affected your life?

      State Champs has easily become my favorite band. Their music really means a lot to me, and helped me through some hard times in my life. In 2015, I graduated from high school and left for college where I had a really rough freshman year. I experienced a lot of loneliness due to being away from friends and family and experienced a lot of anxiety. State Champs helped me through this by making me feel like I was never alone. Whenever I was down, I could put on their music and just live in the moment. I could count on their music to always be there for me when I didn't have anyone else. And even 6 years later, this still holds true. Whenever I need a pick me up, I put on their music and have a one person dance party to forget about any stress and anxiety that I may be experiencing at the time.

      3. If you have attended a State Champs concert - what was it like for you?

        I first saw State Champs at Riot Fest in 2017 and then four more times after that. Each time I see them, the shows just get better and better. State Champs shows are entirely different from other shows and I don't really know why. The atmosphere, the music, the crowd.. I really feel like I belong. All my feelings and the problems in my life go away when the music starts. I enjoy screaming/singing along to the songs, jumping, dancing, crowd surfing at these shows more than any others. I can't wait to see you guys again, because I have missed that feeling so, so much and I can't wait to dance to some new music and make new memories.

        4. Any suggestions for what we can do/set up for Champs Fam?

         I don't really have any ideas at the moment, everything is great!

        5. If you could give State Champs a message - what would it be?

          Thank you so much for everything that you guys do. I hope you realize just how important you are to me and many others. Thank you guys for being so genuine and kind to everyone and even though this last year has been a tough one, you still found ways to interact with your fans and show your appreciation. Thank you for being there during the rough parts of my life, I don't know what I would have done if I haven't found your music when I did. <3
