5 Questions with Jordan Schmidt...
1. When did you first become a fan of State Champs?
I became a fan of State Champs around late 2015 when I discovered my sister had The Acoustic Things on our family iTunes library. It was truly love at first listen!
2. How has State Champs affected your life?
Champs has had nothing but a positive impact on my life. The release of Living Proof happened to coincide with some dark times in my personal life, and the power of songs like Our Time To Go and Mine Is Gold helped me get through my struggles. Outside of that, the band has brought me close to so many people I would have otherwise never met! The online community has been so welcoming and wonderful, and the band themselves feed into that by taking the time to interact with us regularly.
3. If you have attended a State Champs concert - what was it like for you?
I've attended 6 shows so far (after the Pure Noise tour it will be 9). Every show has been different and wonderful in its own way! My first show was on the Living Proof tour in Detroit, MI and that really set the tone for what to expect from these shows. The crowd was absolutely rowdy and the band was just as nuts. My most recent show at the time of typing this was the PNR tour Detroit date, for which I had the sidestage package! Everyone involved with my experience at that show were nothing short of amazing. Getting to hang with the band before they went on for their set was a once in a lifetime experience that I will cherish forever!
4. Any suggestions for what we can do/set up for Champs Fam?
At this point, seeing all the effort that's going into making sure the Fam are taken care of while the band is touring has been so nice to see. I don't have any suggestions or ideas at the moment, but i'll be sure to say something if i ever do!
5. If you could give State Champs a message - what would it be?
My message to the band would be a resounding THANK YOU!! Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for us as fans, and for always being people we can look up to. You guys mean so much to me and the rest of the Fam. Again, thank you!
