FAN OF THE MONTH - MARCH 2023

5 Questions with Ayeisha Watkins

1. When did you first become a fan of State Champs?

I first became a Fan of Champs when my friend introduced me to pop punk back in 2012!

    2. How has State Champs affected your life?

Since finding out about champs I have travelled to Paris, Been all over the UK following their 2018 tour including places that I as a Brit had never been to and I've also travelled alone to America (Phoenix) for the first time just to see the boys perform in 2019. State Champs have allowed me to meet and connect with so many people, I've had my life flipped upside down when travelling around, and I'm so excited that after covid I am going to be able to do this again in a few months time!!!

      3. If you have attended a State Champs concert - what was it like for you?

I have been to 50 Champs shows in total since 2014 when I could finally go to concerts, the phoenix show was my favourite show I have been to as I felt so at home and felt surrounded by people who had the same passions as me, I mean it was also quite fun to not tell any of the boys that I was coming and see how surprised they were when they read my name on VIP list! (I believe Ryan and Derek thought it was a joke that my name was on the VIP list). Every show I've been to has been unreal, I was able to travel around the UK for the october 2018 tour and see cities in my own country that i'd never been to, including my first trip to scotland and dublin!! Every single Champs show leaves me feeling so happy and leaves me with such blissful memories and times that I just can't stop talking about it no matter how many people tell me to shut up! The atmosphere at every show is electric, the UK goes hard and I always feel like I'm exactly where I belong when I'm attending a State Champs Show!

        4. Any suggestions for what we can do/set up for Champs Fam?

Wouldn't Change it for anything, looking forward to seeing it grow more!

        5. If you could give State Champs a message - what would it be?

Thankyou for always taking time for the fans, and keeping us as updated and involved as possible, everything you do is incredible and each one of us will always be here for you. Personally I would like to thank you for bringing such positivity and hope into my life, allowing me to feel so at home and confident at each show I have been to, thank you for helping create awesome memories, from having a drink after the shows in leeds to being surprised I showed up in america 2 days after saying I wish I could go. You guys are something else and are genuinely some of the most lovely, honest, caring and trustworthy people I have personally had the pleasure to meet. Keep doing your thing and let's bring on the next load of shows, and forget its almost been 3 years since last time I saw you!!
