FAN OF THE MONTH - JULY 2021
5 Questions with Brianne Maloney...
1. When did you first become a fan of State Champs?
-In December of 2014 when they were rumored to be touring with All Time Low for the Future Hearts Tour
2. How has State Champs affected your life?Where do I start? Their music, for one, is perfect. All of their albums are no skip albums & I could just listen to them over & over again(Living Proof didn't leave the CD player in my car for over a year). The lyrics, the breakdowns, the energy--their songs are perfect for driving, dancing, or just vibing.
-They've brought me to a lot of places I'd never consider traveling to just to visit(I live in NJ)- Chicago, Baltimore, & Texas just to name a few, & those trips were some of the best I've been on yet! I'm going back to Chicago this year to see them at Riot Fest & I can't wait!
-In 2019, I decided that since State Champs has done so much for me(& other fans), I had funko pops made of them & it was one of the most fun things I've ever done. I got a bunch of fans in on the project & gave the pops to them at the Philly date of the Living Proof tour & they absolutely loved them!
-Lastly, I already have 3 State Champs related tattoos(& plan to get more in the future) which I haven't done for any other band so it's safe to say they're my favorite :)
3. If you have attended a State Champs concert - what was it like for you?-I've been to 30 so far & each one has been unique & amazing, from opening for All Time Low to Riot Fest to headlining Playstation Theater in NYC, I love seeing the guys in their element, being a part of their crowd & just having a good time. They engage the crowd as much as possible & have so much fun which in turn, makes it fun for us.
4. Any suggestions for what we can do/set up for Champs Fam?
Not that I can think of-- the way you're doing things is pretty cool & different, especially with the texting & giving us exclusive info before anyone else! There is one merch item I would like to see again though--tank tops please!
5. If you could give State Champs a message - what would it be?From the first time I saw you(Future Hearts Tour 2015) until the last(Frozen Fest 2019), you have always been so welcoming & kind(I've literally met at least one of you at every show thus far except for one-I'll never forget the first time I saw you, I wasn't too fond of my selfie with Ryan so at the next show I asked if we could take another one & he didn't even think twice about it) whereas most artists would just give a quick hello & then that's it. You guys take the time to listen to us, engage with us in new & creative ways, & always put on the best show. Thank you guys for everything & I can't wait to see where you take me next! (other than Chicago, NY & Philly this year 😀)
