5 Questions with Carrie Bergan...

1. When did you first become a fan of State Champs?  

Honestly, I don't remember when I first became a fan of State Champs. Secrets is probably the most memorable song that I came to know by them and I saw them at Warped Tour 2016 in Portland. So I wanna guess around 2015 which is when Secrets first came out lol

State Champs, like all music, affects my life in such a way that even when I would feel alone, I knew I wasn't. The lyrics and message of a song by an artist is what drives me to remember that no matter what, someone else has experienced what I have. It is also what drives me to keep pushing and never giving up on life or what I love.

I have seen State Champs live four times, two of them were at Warped Tour, then there was Sad Summer Fest 2018, and the Where I Belong Tour with Simple Plan and We the Kings. All four times, the fan base for State Champs is definitely wild haha. The Where I Belong Tour was my favorite, I mean I did VIP so I got to meet the boys. My friend, Amy, and I had traveled by greyhound from our university in Ohio to Indianapolis for it and it was such an amazing experience. Huge shout-out to Derek for the group pics post-meet & greet. That was so very sweet and accommodating of him to do that for us. Also, being front at the barricade is always where I belong for any concert haha.

4. Any suggestions for what we can do/set up for Champs Fam?

I can't think of anything, but if I do, I'll let you know!

My message to them is that I wish I could see them on the upcoming tour with my other boys from Real Friends but lack of transportation is making it difficult so I wish that tour the best. I'll jam with them at Riot Fest, but I can't make it to an anniversary meet 'n greet in The Egyptian Room unfortunately. Also, I love them and their music! P.S. Thanks for the birthday wish from whoever texted me :)
